COMPANY OVERVIEW: We are a leading consultancy delivering engineering and management services across the Utilities, Energy and Infrastructure sectors.

As part of our long-term, strategic partnership with our water clients, we are supporting the delivery of AMP8 (2025 – 2030) projects under a £5bn framework agreement and now seek experienced Design Engineer’s to join our team to support this delivery.

PROJECT MANAGER *HYBRID role* We are looking for an experienced client side Project Manager who has a background in the Water or Utilities industry to join the team working onsite around Northern England, together with office activities where needed.

NEC3/NEC4 project management qualification / accreditation is desirable.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as the client-side Project Manager, leading the successful delivery of water infrastructure projects from project inception through to completion and handover.
  • Define project scope, objectives, programme, budget, and delivery strategy in collaboration with stakeholders and technical teams.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project execution plans, ensuring alignment with client requirements, regulatory obligations, and business objectives.
  • Manage project governance, ensuring compliance with processes, health and safety legislation, environmental standards, and industry regulations.
  • Lead the procurement and management of consultants, contractors, and suppliers, ensuring effective contract administration throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor project progress against programme, budget, and key performance indicators, implementing corrective actions where required to maintain successful delivery.
  • Identify, assess, and manage project risks and opportunities, developing and implementing appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting, ensuring robust cost control and value for money throughout delivery.
  • Review and approve contractor programmes, progress reports, change requests, and payment applications, ensuring contractual compliance and commercial integrity.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams to ensure effective collaboration and timely delivery of project milestones.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with NWG stakeholders, contractors, regulatory bodies, and external partners, providing clear and proactive communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead project meetings, provide regular progress updates, and prepare reports for senior management and governance boards.
  • Manage project change control processes, ensuring that variations are assessed, approved, and implemented in line with project objectives.
  • Oversee commissioning, testing, handover, and project close-out activities, ensuring all deliverables are completed to the required quality standards and operational acceptance criteria.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying lessons learned and implementing best practices to enhance future project delivery. REQUIREMENTS:
  • Water experience (Required).
  • Previous experience managing a project from start to finish on the client. side.
  • Working on site experience.
  • NEC3/ NEC4 Project Management experience desired
