Long Clawson Dairy (Clawson Farms) is based in Long Clawson (LE14 4PJ) and offers a salary of £14.16 per hour plus great benefits. The role requires working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 06:15 to 15:00.

As a Line Leader in our Packing team, you will manage a specific packing line area or function as directed by the Team Leader, ensuring that schedules are achieved on time, to the specified cost, quality and quantity by the most efficient utilisation of resources available.

What you’ll do:

  • Strive to improve productivity and report problems or issues as they arise, which may impact on the line's output.
  • Manage staff morale and take personal responsibility for your own actions.
  • Ensure all records are completed accurately and that staff use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where appropriate.
  • Encourage, train, develop and motivate staff, understanding the production plan for your line.
  • Ensure your line and associated equipment/staff are ready and available in advance for the start of each shift.
  • Achieve set targets by reducing cheese wastage and labour costs.
  • Coordinate raw materials and packaging to the line daily, with no production stoppages.
  • Show respect for colleagues, customers, and the environment.

What are we looking for?

Essential:

  • Adaptable/flexible to meet requirements and demands of production and seasonal fluctuations.
  • Health & Safety awareness.
  • Industrious and able to work under pressure.
  • Good level of accuracy and numeracy when completing records.
  • Good knowledge of operating machinery.
  • Good standard of spoken and written English.
  • Quality focused.
  • Current Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (to be achieved within 12 months).
  • Self-motivated and able to motivate staff.
  • Basic IT skills including Excel and Word.
  • Ambitious, driven and passionate about making improvements.

Desirable:

  • Health & Safety trained in Manual handling, Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) and risk assessment.
  • Understanding of Allergen awareness.
  • Knowledge of quality and compliance systems.
  • Food/process manufacturing background.
