About the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre:
The London LGBTQ+ Community Centre is an award-winning charity launched by a team of volunteers in 2017. In December 2021 we opened our first physical space in London’s Bankside. Since then we have gradually grown and are now a 7 person staff team. Our mission is to provide London with a sober, intersectional, intergenerational, community centre and café where all LGBTQ+ people feel welcome and supported, can build connections, and flourish. Our vision is for a more connected, belonging and thriving LGBTQ+ community in London.
This is a very exciting time at the Centre, as we prepare to launch our second programme in partnership with new LGBTQ+ venue Chroma in 2027.
Overview of the role:
A key responsibility of the Marketing Coordinator will be to promote our programme of community-led events at the Centre – an exciting mix of LGBTQ+ meetups and socials, wellbeing sessions, healthcare drop-ins, arts and crafts, sports classes and a wide range of workshops. The Centre has an extremely busy calendar, hosting an average of 25 events per week. In 2025 we hosted over 500 public activities, attended by more than 10,000 people.
It will be the responsibility of the Marketing Coordinator to work closely with our Events and Outreach Lead and event facilitators to ensure all events are marketed appropriately, ensuring accuracy and maximum visibility.
As a community centre, we work very closely with multiple LGBTQ+ communities and individuals, operating as a key resource and signposting hub for the community. As part of this role, you will be responsible for managing our digital enquiries both on email and social media.
Our online platforms have grown significantly in the last two years – we now have over 35k followers on Instagram, over 6k on Facebook, 8k Eventbrite and 10k newsletter subscribers. As the Marketing Coordinator you will be responsible for the management of all event marketing, including on social media and Eventbrite, creating our weekly newsletter and designing social media assets and content to advertise events. Alongside this you will manage event queries from the community and work closely with our Events and Outreach Lead on ticketing and scheduling.
As we continue to evolve, we’re looking into the future of the Centre and how we can reach even more LGBTQ+ people across London. Therefore, this is a crucial role to market the Centre – so people know we’re here! – and to tell the stories of the community who use the space.
Key responsibilities and duties:
- Event marketing: Creating and updating event pages via Eventbrite; Communication with event facilitators about marketing for their events; Collaborating with event facilitators to create marketing materials (i.e IG Reels) to promote events.
- Community customer service: Managing our public email inbox and responding to queries from the community; Responding to queries from the community via DMs and comments.
- Social media management: Scheduling and posting content on our main social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn); Keeping up-to-date with new changes to social media channels and trends to inform our content.
- Content creation: Writing copy for a wide range of platforms (online and print); Creating graphics for social media and emails in Canva; Designing print marketing materials; Filming and editing social media content at the Centre.
- Email newsletter management: Creating our weekly email newsletter via Mailchimp; Working alongside our Communications and Marketing Manager to develop new content.
- Tracking and reporting: Recording analytics across all our platforms to inform our content; Through analytics review, recommend ideas to develop our communications strategy.
- CRM: Using our Beacon CRM to manage facilitator relationships and event details; Utilise CRM and Mailchimp integration; Ensure contacts and information are kept up to date.
- Ad-hoc responsibilities as and where required.
You will be required to work 4 days per week. Ideally, this will include Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Despite being a young, small organisation, we are working hard to create a workplace where everyone feels supported to perform at their best. We currently offer the following benefits:
- Holiday allowance of 28 days (pro-rata), increasing yearly after two years of service.
- Employer pension contribution of 3%.
- Access to an employee helpline to help you deal with personal or professional concerns.
- A holistic wellbeing package.
- DBS funded by employer.
- Ongoing training opportunities to support with career development, including annual learning and development opportunities shaped to your needs.
- Being part of a small organisation where you can really see your impact.
- Working alongside a range of other LGBT+ organisations.
Is this role for you?
We are looking for someone with at least 2 years of experience in communications and marketing, who is comfortable managing multiple deadlines and responsibilities with a keen eye for detail and passion for LGBTQ+ communities.
Professional experience:
- A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in communications and marketing. This can be in a freelance or employed capacity.
- Experience managing social media accounts including Instagram, TikTok and/or Facebook.
- Experience managing an email newsletter (i.e MailChimp).
