About LondonEnergy: At LondonEnergy, we’re proud of our vital role in managing North London’s waste and protecting the environment. We handle and process 750,000 tonnes of waste each year, making us the second largest waste contract in the UK. Together, we generate enough energy from waste to power around 80,000 homes annually and recycle 70% of items through our Reuse and Recycling Centres.

About the role: As a Site Operative at LondonEnergy, you will have a strong customer service background and will act as the first point of contact to the public, providing a professional service by giving advice, direction, and assistance, ensuring that waste is received and deposited correctly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering a consistent high level of customer service, working to the company standards and contract requirements.
  • Assisting members of the public, where safe and appropriate to do so, and overseeing the sorting and safe disposal of customers' waste and recycling materials.
  • Advising on the correct segregation of waste and recycling into relevant containers/storage areas.
  • Monitoring and directing traffic movements within the facility.
  • Carrying out general site duties including housekeeping of site grounds, buildings, and staff facilities.
  • Operating the site in line with current company policies and procedures.

General:

  • To carry out other appropriate duties at a similar level at the designated site/sites or other company sites as required.
  • Reliable and punctual.
  • Able to work as part of a team.
  • Flexible approach may be required to learn other roles within the site to ensure effective operating procedures.
  • Must be willing to learn operations and undergo appropriate training.
  • Be able to work shifts in a pattern (including some weekends).
  • Experience working in a public-facing role.
  • Working in a similar role is desirable.
  • Health and Safety awareness training.
