About The Role

The Council, its staff and partners were delighted in March 2023 when Ofsted judged the overall effectiveness of children’s social care services to be ‘Outstanding’ for the second time running since 2018. We were especially pleased that our investment in frontline practitioners and managers has continued to be recognised. Bexley has a strong learning and development programme and offers a supportive environment to enable social workers to practise in the best interests of children and families.

Bexley’s learning and development programme provides clear career pathways, a talent management scheme and a culture that enables social work to flourish. Our family engagement group, FL.A.RE and children in care forums support practice development and delivery.

We invest in our staff so they can invest in the children, young people and families we support. Welfare benefits include weekly well‑being sessions, a corporate programme of emotional and physical well‑being sessions and an Employee Assistance Programme.
