The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 € per year.

We need a strong team player to assist the Street Works Team in operating the London Permit Scheme. You will be working as a member of the Street Works Team to assess and coordinate permits on the highway within the Borough, and this will involve working closely with Street Works Inspectors and Highway Area Teams to ensure the best possible service to all highway users.

The work is varied and interesting, and involves taking pride and ownership of one third of the Borough for the coordination and administration of the London Permit Scheme including:

  • Assessment of permit applications
  • Electronic administration of comments, inspections, defects and associated charges
  • Identify and seek resolution of inaccuracies in data
  • Work closely with a Street Works Inspector to ensure that all aspects of relevant legislation are met

You will also play an active role in dealing with emergencies that may affect the highway and the residents of Bexley. An understanding of the New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA), the London Permit Scheme (LoPS) and the Traffic Management Act would be a definite advantage. Experience in coordination or an operational technical support environment is desirable, although training will be provided.

Contract duration fixed to March 2030. Please note that the successful candidate will be required to be office based 5 days a week until established into role, then likely to be required to be office based at least 3 days a week.
