About London Youth Rowing

London Youth Rowing (LYR) is a pioneering charity dedicated to transforming the lives of young people through the sport of rowing. Established with the vision of making rowing accessible to all, LYR focuses on engaging youth from diverse backgrounds, particularly those in underprivileged areas of London.

Our core activities include providing structured rowing programmes that not only teach the skills of the sport but also promote teamwork, discipline, and resilience. We believe that through rowing, young people can develop essential life skills that will benefit them both on and off the water.

LYR operates in various locations across London, offering opportunities for young people aged 11 to 18 to participate in regular training sessions, competitions, and workshops. Our experienced coaches are committed to fostering a supportive environment where every participant can thrive.

In addition to physical training, we place a strong emphasis on personal development. Participants are encouraged to set goals, reflect on their progress, and build confidence in their abilities. This holistic approach ensures that our young rowers not only excel in the sport but also grow as individuals.

We are proud to collaborate with schools, community organisations, and local authorities to reach as many young people as possible. Through these partnerships, we aim to create a lasting impact in the communities we serve.

At LYR, we envision a future where every young person has the opportunity to experience the joy of rowing and the benefits it brings. Join us in our mission to empower the next generation through sport.
