Location: One position based at Walthamstow Wetlands (N17 9NH), one based at Grosvenor Square (W1K 2DA)

Role & Responsibilities

As our Café Supervisor, you'll support the Café Operations Manager with the day-to-day management of the Cafés, whilst leading a small team and working closely with our Catering & Events Duty Managers to deliver our day-time Catering requirements. This is a great opportunity for a Team Leader or Supervisor wanting to take their first steps towards management. Training to take on more responsibilities and skills will be both provided and encouraged.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the day-to-day operations of the café, taking on Café Assistant responsibilities as required
  • To lead, train and support with development of the Café Assistants
  • To ensure correct setup and food preparations are completed each day
  • To manage ordering and complete stocktakes, taking ownership of stock rotation
  • To work alongside the Events team to deliver and coordinate hospitality
  • To ensure an excellent visitor experience within a supportive team, including support with site operations
  • Logging of all food hygiene paperwork including daily checklists and records, and potentially being the first point of contact for Environmental Health Officers
  • To report any maintenance issues and logging with the appropriate lead
  • To support the Café Operations Manager with staffing rotas, flagging ad-hoc absences or staffing issues
  • To help maintain the site's high level of customer service and online reviews
  • To work with the Café Operations Manager to develop new menu ideas
  • Site key holder & first aider (including opening/closing site)

Our ideal Café Supervisor:

  • Proven experience in a Café or Catering role at Team Leader level or above
  • Operational knowledge of ordering and stock rotation
  • Skilled Barista with experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrable knowledge of food hygiene & health and safety legislation
  • Ability to use initiative and manage projects simultaneously
