Title: Nursing and Residential Care Home Services

Description: Islington Council has a number of care home contracts delivered from council buildings that expire in the next 4-6 years.

We are seeking to engage with innovative and dynamic providers of residential and nursing care home services for older people, including those with complex needs such as dementia, behaviours of concern, learning disabilities, and mental health needs. The purpose is to understand the appetite for delivering care home services in Islington, as well as the opportunities and challenges in the current supplier market.

This is an opportunity for suppliers in the care home market to familiarize themselves with the Islington vision and ambitions to meet the future care needs of Islington residents. Islington’s long-term strategy for Adult Social Care Accommodation can be found here. You will also find the updated Market Sustainability Plan and Market Position Statement, which outline the needs, demand, and challenges in Islington.

Suppliers (both current and potential new suppliers) are invited to attend a market engagement event where Islington commissioners will share future ambitions and high-level plans. The event offers an opportunity for suppliers to ask questions and network.

The market event will take place via Teams on 5 March 2025 from 2 pm to 4 pm.
