Southwark Council is looking to procure a Security service to ensure building and occupant safety across 5 supported hostels in the borough: Manor Place, Jo Richards House, David Barker House, Northcott House and Keyworth Street Hostel. Support is given in a range of complex support needs from domestic violence, substance misuse, mental health and offending.

The full scope of the services to be provided is set out in the Specification issued within the Invitation to Tender (ITT) document. However, the focus of the Service is on providing out-of-hours security cover at the supported hostels with Security staff primarily responsible for ensuring that the building and occupants are safe and secure.

Hours of service are as follows:

  • Monday to Friday 20:00 to 08:00 (Daily)
  • Saturday & Sunday 08:00 - 08:00 (Monday) - Please note 24-hour cover at weekends
  • Public Holidays 08:00 - 08:00 (the following working day) - Please note 24-hour cover

A minimum of two officers to be deployed at each hostel at any one time. The Supplier shall be responsible for the provision of gender appropriate security staff to meet the supported hostels’ security requirements including at the female only hostel.

The Contract is for an initial period of three (3) years with the option to extend for any period or periods up to a maximum of two (2) further years.
