Position Summary: Science Teacher / Science Lead is available in St Albans for a permanent role, starting ASAP. The role is within a specialist SEN setting supporting pupils aged 5–16 with autism, communication difficulties and moderate learning needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver differentiated Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Adapt practical and theoretical content to meet the individual needs of learners with autism, moderate learning difficulties and communication needs.
- Work closely with teaching assistants and therapists to provide practical, sensory and real‑world learning experiences.
- Support pupil progress against EHCP targets.
- If appointed as Science Lead, lead curriculum development within Science, support staff in planning, assessment and delivery, and ensure high‑quality teaching and learning across the subject area.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Qualified teacher (PQT required).
- Strong subject knowledge in Science.
- Excellent behaviour management skills.
- Commitment to inclusive education.
- Leadership experience is desirable for the Science Lead aspect but not essential.
