London Teaching Pool is currently recruiting for a specialist complex needs Teacher to work with primary aged children – KS2 in this SEN school in Bow, East London. This role will start September 2026 as this SEN school needs a SEMH Teacher urgently to teach the KS2 curriculum. As a SEMH Teacher you will teach the UK Primary National Curriculum to complex‑needs children who have been struggling in a mainstream environment. There will be two support workers in the class, and only 6-8 children. You must have taught the KS2 curriculum. All of the primary students at this SEN school arrive with a statement of SEN known as an Education Care Plan. Because the students have often missed education due to their behaviour or specific learning difficulties, they frequently arrive with comparatively low levels of prior attainment.
Person Specification
- An overall experience of at least 1 year in a classroom environment.
- A strong track record of raising levels of achievement and motivation.
- QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or QTLS.
- Excellent behaviour management skills, with Team Teach or similar restraint training certificate desirable.
- Ability to build positive relationships with young people and staff.
- Good knowledge and experience working with children with complex needs within an SEN environment.
- Ability to teach the KS2 curriculum and work well as a team.
- A big personality.
- A valid DBS (preferably on the update service).
- The right to work in the UK.
- A minimum of two references.
