TLTP are recruiting for a nurture Teacher to work with pupils aged 7 to 19 with an Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) and/or Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This SEMH School based in East London focuses on developmental milestones and a holistic curriculum. The school provides a happy, safe and secure learning environment where pupils grow in independence, form positive relationships and feel valued and respected. Through the nurture approach, pupils will improve their cognitive functioning and ability to learn through better emotional regulation.

The Role

TLTP are seeking an experienced and passionate Nurture Teacher for a new Nurture provision. You will teach according to the Principles of Nurture and the Principles of Therapeutic Education, with a strong focus on concrete, creative and playful teaching methods. The provision will cater for Key Stage 2 pupils with very complex needs who require an intensive nurturing and therapeutic approach to enable them to access the curriculum.

Essential requirements to be successful in the role are:

  • Be a Qualified Primary Teacher (holding QTS or QTLS) with a minimum of 2 years post qualification teaching experience in either the Primary or SEND sector.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development in education.
  • Experience of managing neurodiverse children with SEND, including ASC and/or SEMH.
  • Experience of coaching staff to improve their practice.
