Responsibilities
- We are seeking to hire an ambitious, innovative, and AI-savvy engineering lead to help us to build the future of Digital Rights as part of the LSEG-Microsoft Partnership Data Platform
- As a Lead Software Engineer, you will help to design and build solutions in the complex and challenging domain of Digital Rights Management
- You will lead a squad of engineers, maintaining focus on secure, quality code whilst providing guidance and mentorship
- You will use AI tools and automation to maximise efficiency and repeatability across the Software Development Lifecycle
- You will participate in strategy and design discussions with key stakeholders from across the programme
- You will work in a fast-paced, agile environment and lead by example, developing solutions in Public Cloud
- You’ll be a strong, confident communicator, comfortable liaising with senior leaders from across the organisation
- Providing technical leadership to software engineers in your squad
- Inspiring and mentoring more-junior engineers
- Work with enterprise architects to design optimized solutions which meet product requirements
- Using and advocating AI tools to maximise developer efficiency whilst ensuring appropriate guard rails are defined and implemented
- Coding secure, efficient, and effective solutions
- Delivering solutions using Microsoft Azure capabilities
- Adopting Dev Ops principles to code, build and implement solutions
- Providing support to Reliability Engineering teams releasing the software that your team have built
- Ensuring that solutions conform to LSEG test strategy standards
- Working with Product Owners to understand requirements
- Working with the squad to provide accurate estimations for delivery
- Providing commitments to deliver features and successfully meeting them
- Providing clear and concise communications to the squad and stakeholders
- Helping to attract and recruit talent to a growing team
Qualifications & Skills
- Relational and No SQL databases
- Dedication to continuous professional development
- 8+ years of Software Engineering experience using languages including
- A good understanding of ‘well-architected’ principles
- 3+ years experience of leading successful engineering squads
- C# . NET
- An empathetic, supportive leader able to inspire your team
- Motivation, self-starting and a ‘can do’ attitude
- An understanding of the financial information domain is desirable
- A desire to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- React, Angular or similar
- Strong written and spoken communication skills with an ability to present
- An enthusiasm to learn new technology and approaches – and share them with others
- Demonstrable experience of building applications in Public Cloud – ideally Microsoft Azure
