As a Senior Program Manager, you will partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Operations leaders to shape strategic priorities and ensure execution excellence across the index business. You will drive initiatives from strategic rationale and business case development through to planning, delivery, and performance measurement—ensuring alignment to FTSE Russell’s growth, resilience, and operational effectiveness objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of investment cases for growth, innovation, and operational resilience initiatives, forming a critical part of the annual FTSE Russell Investment Planning Process.
- Contribute to the creation of the global product roadmap, ensuring strategic alignment and cross‑functional input.
- Conduct ongoing assessments of the global indexing landscape to inform prioritisation, competitive positioning, and forward strategy.
- Partner with Product Owners, Regional Heads, and Global Product Leaders to scope, validate, and implement new commercial opportunities that accelerate the growth agenda.
- Translate strategic ideas into actionable delivery plans with clear metrics, milestones, and economic impact assessments.
- Embed within Scrum teams to support delivery (stand‑ups, demos, retrospectives, backlog refinement), ensuring teams have clarity on Sprint goals and remain aligned to broader roadmap objectives.
- Manage cross‑team dependencies, risks, and delivery constraints; shape rollout and deployment strategies across Product, Engineering, and Operations.
- Identify process gaps and operational inefficiencies, driving root‑cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
- Build and maintain a streamlined reporting framework to support multiple governance forums (Scrum rituals, Steering Committees, Investment Committees, Board reporting).
- Leverage automation and data visualisation to enhance transparency of progress, risk, and impact.
Qualifications:
- Hands‑on experience in driving large enterprise‑wide transformation programmes.
- Experience in programme management within Trading, Banking, Asset Management, or Financial Index products.
- Experience of driving complex initiatives with geographically dispersed cross‑functional teams, in both Waterfall and Agile environments.
- Excellent senior stakeholder engagement, with the ability to influence decision‑making across matrixed organisations.
- Demonstrated strength in financial planning, resource allocation, cost governance, and risk management.
- Proficiency working with financial data, Jira, Excel, and expert‑level PowerPoint skills.
- Superior organisational skills with strong problem‑solving and analytical capability.
