The successful candidate for the TradeAgent Senior Lead Platform Engineer/SRE, reporting to the TradeAgent Director of Technical Solutions & Delivery, will form part of a team building a complex and from grounds up new cloud-based critical market infrastructure service in a bold new venture part of LSEG. This opening requires a candidate who takes great pride in delivery excellence with excellent logical and technical skills and a can-do attitude combined with a helpful mentality, and a wish to play a critical role in forming and growing a new business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and maintain infrastructure for cloud-based trading platforms tracking key performance metrics and improvement.
  • Be able to take ownership of the quality of the platform and act as SRE for non-production environments.
  • Support complex application stacks across multiple cloud environments.
  • Automate the deployment of Cloud based resources to ensure high availability, performance, scalability and security.
  • Track and improve platform running cost and be part of the FinOps operating model.
  • Be part of the devops practice in developing best practices and guidance.
  • Enable and guide product teams through implementation of deployment pipelines and deployment strategy from dev to prod in a cloud based environment.
  • Treat development teams as your customer while helping them in defining their processes, running proof of concepts, using best practices and selecting best-fit solutions.
  • Be challenging and questioning while ensuring trust and respect are maintained and a one team mentality is promoted.

Key Skills, Experience and Behaviours

  • Excellent understanding of CI/CD methodologies with good hands-on experience.
  • Solid understanding of IaC principles and good hands-on experience using Terraform to build AWS Infra.
  • Extensive experience in developing/managing CI/CD pipelines preferably using Gitlab.
  • Experience with Container technologies and tooling such as Docker, Kubernetes, Helm etc.
  • Experience deploying apps to Kubernetes.
  • Good hands on experience using config management tools such as Ansible etc.
  • Experience using code analysis and security tools such as Coverity and Blackduck.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as groovy, bash or python.
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring tools such as Datadog etc.
  • Successful Scaled Agile delivery experience.
  • Ability to use a wide range of Open-source tools.
  • Experience working with Anthos/GKE Enterprise on AWS (Preferred).
  • Proficiency securing cloud-native applications and infrastructure.
  • Experience collaborating with multi-functional teams across multiple regions and timezones.
  • Mentoring and developing junior team members.
  • Experience working in highly regulated financial industries.
  • Experience of being an SRE/Platform engineer for cloud based trading solutions that are widely used by industry.
