Role Overview:

The Technology Services Category team is responsible for the Global Category Management and Strategic Sourcing of Third-Party resources across LSEG (London Stock Exchange Group), with a concentration on the Technology Engineering organisation.

The primary purpose of this role is to provide procurement support to Project Leaders in the Technology Engineering organisation. LSEG uses Oracle Fusion, Workday, ServiceNow, VMS and other systems to curate the work of the organisation. You will be encouraged to build senior relationships, understanding in detail their business objectives and how 3rd parties are currently, or could be, deployed. You will be responsible for building and developing your own pipeline of projects to assist the Company in exceeding its savings targets. In addition to developing and building a project pipeline, you will also be responsible for driving and running the process for complex procurement projects. You will also maintain relationships with assigned key suppliers and lead the commercial framework for those suppliers.

You will be required to demonstrate experiences in these areas at interview.

Procurement Organisation

You will be working in a globally distributed team of procurement & sourcing professionals, with presence in the UK (London), USA (New York), Spain (Madrid), Singapore, India (Bengaluru) and Columbo (Sri Lanka).

The Procurement organisation reports into the Chief Operations Officer, providing procurement services to the whole of LSEG and operates under the following key categories:

Services (under which this role will reside) Technology (covering IT hardware, Cloud, Licensed software, and communications spend) Corporate (Real estate, Marketing, HR, data, etc.) Strategy and Performance (S&P) Team – responsible for implementing the strategy of the function, whilst delivering best in class procurement policies and processes. Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) Team -responsible for handling relationships with our most critical Tier 1 suppliers.

The Services category provides timely and effective procurement services to LSEG team members and includes leadership of the following global procurement sub-categories:

  • Contingent labour
  • Business Consulting
  • Technology Services

Key Attributes of the Role

  • Partner with internal partners to be their Procurement Business Partner, review 3rd party spend and agree appropriate projects (and deliver those projects).
  • Have the desire and ability to challenge the status quo" constructively and in partnership with team members
  • Use provided tools to analyse spend, worker information, supplier information to identify, build sponsorship for and pursue new savings opportunities
  • Be proactive on all matters
  • Knows their supply base inside out.
  • Strong knowledge and experience on Request For Solution (RFS) sourcing process
  • Detailed knowledge of commercial/outsourcing cost models and how to present bid summaries back to Senior Leaders
  • Work with product development groups to implement KPIs (Key performance indicators) and reporting of supplier performance
  • Be a great teammate within the Global Procurement function.
  • Able to work closely with SRM (Supplier Relationship Management), TPRM (Third Party Risk Management), Legal, Finance and Vendor Management teams
  • Ensure priorities are handled effectively by modifying plans and actions in your own area of accountability, call out issues early to management. Will not miss agreed target dates.
  • Provide leadership to a project team in all sourcing related matters.
  • Develop and lead a project against an agreed plan and objectives, ensuring commitments are met by monitoring, assessing, and resolving variances in budget, timing, or quality of work
  • Able to support, educate and mentor other team members, particularly the Senior Buyer group
  • Able to work without supervision
  • Focused to lead and complete required admin tasks (such as project reporting and timely updates to procurement systems such as Ariba, Oracle iProcurement & Fieldglass), and in-house project tracking applications

Candidate Experience

The candidate will have several years of experience in a complex, high-pressure environment, identifying and leading complex sourcing projects with multiple partners. Candidates who have experience of working within the Financial Services sector could be well suited to this role (but this is not essential). The ideal candidate may be leading or previously led key technology services supplier relationships with Suppliers such as TCS (Tata Consultancy Services), EPAM, Luxoft, Infosys, etc. Experience in Business Consulting engagements also highly desirable.

Education

A relevant bachelor's degree is preferred.
