The Senior Manager for Product Management Training & Enablement is accountable for hands‐on design and delivery of product management training across the organisation, with a primary focus on bootcamp‐style programmes and instructor‐led learning. The role leads the end‐to‐end delivery of the Product Excellence Bootcamp, delivers structured training for Product Managers at different stages of development, and ensures that training translates into observable improvements in product practice and decision quality. This role does not own products or delivery teams. Its impact comes through direct facilitation, instructing, coaching, and practical application of product management skills at scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Management Bootcamp – Primary Accountability
    • Own the build, facilitation, and delivery of the organisation’s Product Excellence Bootcamp
    • Deliver multiple bootcamp cohorts per year, including:
    • Live instructor‐led sessions
    • Interactive workshops and simulations
    • Practical, role‐based exercises tied to real work
  • Ensure bootcamp content is:
  • Practical and experience‐led
  • Aligned to product maturity and strategy
  • Directly applicable in day‐to‐day PM roles
  • Continuously improve bootcamp content using participant feedback and observed capability gaps
  • Ongoing Product Management Training Delivery
    • Design and deliver standalone training modules across key product rigors, including:
    • Product discovery and problem framing
    • Strategy, prioritisation, and trade‐off decisions
    • Outcome‐based road mapping and metrics
    • Customer engagement and influence
  • Tailor delivery for different audiences (new PMs, Senior PMs, Product Leads)
  • Act as a lead facilitator, not just a content owner
  • Build credibility as a recognised internal authority through consistent, high‐quality delivery
  • Learning Application & Reinforcement
    • Ensure training converts into applied capability, not just knowledge transfer
    • Develop follow‐ups, clinics, and reinforcement sessions to support in‐role use of learning
    • Use coaching, peer learning, and case reviews to embed behaviours post‐training
    • Partner with Product Leaders to support application within teams
  • Coaching (in Support of Training Outcomes)
    • Provide targeted 1:1 or small‐group coaching to reinforce training themes
    • Focus coaching on:
    • Applying tools taught in training
    • Improving judgement and decision‐making
    • Navigating real product challenges raised in sessions
  • Use coaching selectively to improve training impact rather than as a standalone service
  • Training Assets, Templates & Materials
    • Own the training‐ready representations of product management templates, tools, and artefacts used in enablement programmes
    • Ensure training materials:
    • Dedicatedly reflect Enterprise PLM standards and artefacts
    • Are easy to understand, instruct, and apply in practice
    • Reinforce the behaviours and decision patterns encouraged of Product Managers
  • Partner closely with the Senior Manager, Enterprise Product Lifecycle Management as the golden source owner to:
    • Ensure accuracy, applicability, and consistency with enterprise standards
    • Validate updates before use in training
    • Provide structured feedback from training and classroom application to inform ongoing evolution of PLM artefacts
  • Regularly refine instructional materials (examples, exercises, case studies) based on:
    • Observed learner challenges
    • Common misunderstandings
    • Practical application gaps surfaced during training delivery
  • Does not own the enterprise definition of PLM templates or standards, but enables their effective adoption through high‐quality training and practice
  • Capability Alignment & Customer Engagement
    • Work closely with:
    • Product Managers
    • Engineering and Operations leaders
    • Learning / Talent teams
  • Align training priorities to:
    • Observed capability gaps
    • Strategic product priorities
  • Influence through expertise and facilitation, not formal authority
  • Scope & Accountability
    • Leads training delivery programmes with significant autonomy
    • Personally delivers a meaningful proportion of product training
    • Influences multiple product areas without line management responsibility
    • Accountable for the quality, effectiveness, and credibility of product management training
  • Skills & Experience

    • Essential
      • Senior experience in product management (Senior PM, Lead PM, Head of Product or equivalent)
      • Validated experience crafting and delivering training to product or delivery professionals
      • Strong facilitation skills with senior, experience‐rich audiences
      • Deep practical knowledge across product discovery, strategy, and delivery
      • Credibility to challenge, coach, and teach experienced Product Managers
    • Strongly Desirable
