Job Description

Join Our Team as a Senior DevOps Performance Engineering Specialist at LSEG - Nottingham, UK
At LSEG, we're transforming financial markets through data, technology, and innovation. Our teams build resilient, scalable platforms that power global finance. If you're passionate about performance, reliability, and cloud-native engineering, we invite you to bring your expertise to our collaborative tech hub in Nottingham.
About the Role
We're seeking a Senior DevOps Performance Engineering Specialist to join the Risk Intelligence team, to help us move the needle on performance, resiliency, and observability initiatives across our cloud-native platforms. You'll play a key role in ensuring our systems are fast, fault-tolerant, and scalable-especially as we evolve toward microservices and containerized deployments on AWS.
What You'll Do

  • Engineer for Performance & Resilience: Design and execute performance, stress, soak, and chaos tests to validate system behaviour under load and failure conditions.
  • Build Observability: Implement and enhance monitoring and alerting using tools like DataDog and AWS CloudWatch, and help us visualise outcomes so we can communicate them efficiently
  • Cloud-Native Delivery: Work across AWS, Docker, EKS, and Terraform to help us deploy and manage scalable infrastructure.
  • Service Mesh Expertise: Leverage Istio to manage traffic, enforce policies, and improve reliability across microservices.
  • Collaborate & Influence: Partner with infrastructure engineers, developers, SREs, and QA engineers to embed performance and resilience into CI/CD pipelines and architecture decisions.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Champion best practices in performance engineering, observability, and fault tolerance across teams.
What We're Looking For
  • Experience: Proven background in a software or platform engineering discipline; maybe you've been a developer, a curious quality or performance engineer who stretched expectations.... maybe you've been in DevOps, or SRE roles - hands-on experience in cloud-native environments is key.
  • Tools & Tech: Strong knowledge of Gatling, JMeter, K6, or similar tools; experience with AWS, Docker, EKS, Terraform, and Istio.
  • Observability: Proficiency in APM and monitoring tools
  • Chaos & Resilience: Familiarity with chaos engineering principles and tools
  • Mindset: Passion for automation, scalability, and building fault-tolerant systems; proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving.
Why Join Us?
  • Work on mission-critical systems in the Risk Intelligence space that prevent bad actors gaining access to global finance.
  • Be part of a forward-thinking team embracing modern DevOps and cloud-native practices.
  • Access to world-class learning platforms, AWS certifications, and global collaboration opportunities.
Join us and be part of a team that values innovation, quality, and continuous improvement. If you're ready to take your career to the next level and make a significant impact, we'd love to hear from you.
