Treasury at LSEG is an outstanding treasury function which supports the delivery of the Group’s strategy through funding, risk management and business partnering. We seek a candidate to join the Corporate Finance & Financial Risk team, which is responsible within Treasury for:

  • Bond issuance in USD, EUR, GBP and other currencies
  • Loan finance including management of the Group’s £3bn revolving credit facilities
  • Rating agency relationships
  • Intragroup funding
  • Forecast and management of net finance expense

The Senior Associate, Corporate Finance & Financial Risk is a key role reporting to the Director, Corporate Finance & Financial Risk. The role is hybrid, with an expectation of 3 days per week of office-based working. The successful candidate will support all external funding activities within Treasury, including bond issuance and loan finance. They will coordinate the annual rating agency review meetings and contribute to the Group’s strategic dialogue with S&P and Moody’s. Reflecting LSEG’s nature as a complex multinational group, they will lead on administering intercompany loan relationships and help devise new intragroup funding structures. Finally, they will lead on the forecasting of LSEG’s net finance expense, the team’s key deliverable for the Group’s financial performance.

Key Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Support the maintenance of the Group’s funding documentation, including reviewing and commenting on finance documents, working closely with internal and external counsel, and managing due diligence processes
  • Assist with delivering the Group’s >£1bn annual bond issuance, including choosing bookrunner banks, supporting debt investor marketing, contributing to syndicate calls, and assisting with execution
  • Analyse and make recommendations for the use of interest-rate and cross-currency swaps to manage interest rate, FX and other financial risks
  • Contribute to all loan financing including bilateral and syndicated facilities, including documentation review
  • Arrange the annual cycle of rating agency meetings and compose related presentations
  • Develop a strong understanding of rating agency models to contribute to strategic dialogue around LSEG’s long- and short-term credit ratings
  • Manage the Group’s portfolio of intercompany loans and ensure that all related documentation is accurately maintained
  • Support Group Tax and Group Corporate Development to devise new intragroup funding structures
  • Lead the forecast of the Group’s net finance expense and leverage metrics to support FP&A and capital allocation, including all related financial modelling
  • Draft and present the annual Treasury risk paper, and lead on other Group Risk workstreams including liquidity risk analysis and going concern assessments
  • Build and strengthen internal and external networks to build knowledge and support effective business partnering
  • Discover and take advantage of opportunities for Treasury to demonstrate effective use of LSEG products and services, as well as supporting commercial priorities
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, Treasury policy, and procedures

Key Behaviours & Skills Required to be Successful in the Role:

  • Degree or equivalent experience, and be studying for or have completed relevant professional qualification (AMCT/ACA/ACCA/CIMA/)
  • Very strong financial modelling and analytical skills
  • Willingness to review and comment on all financing documents with legal support
  • Effective communicator with ability to articulate and present facts and ideas, both in person and in writing
  • Clear desire for professional development and career progression
