We are looking for to lead the next evolution of LSEG's real-time market data platform (RTMDS) and associated low-latency infrastructure. This role is central to driving the technical vision, architectural strategy, and engineering excellence required to operate one of the world's largest real-time market data distribution platforms. You will partner with engineering squads, product leaders, and infrastructure teams to deliver scalable, resilient, observability-rich services that underpin mission-critical market data distribution globally.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as a senior technical leader representing Real-Time Engineering across LSEG.
- Partner with key stakeholders, including Product, Engineering, Operations, and Security to align architectural decisions with enterprise strategy.
- Mentor architects and senior engineers, fostering a strong culture of design excellence, data-driven decision-making, and ownership.
- Drive infrastructure modernisation across compute and network layers, including hardware lifecycle optimisation and vertical/horizontal scaling architecture.
- Guide adoption of automation, observability, and SRE principles to improve resiliency, fault isolation, and recovery.
- Work with capacity management teams to ensure adequate platform headroom.
- Lead architectural direction for ultra-low-latency network connectivity supporting real-time distribution.
- Oversee design validation in vendor labs, including NIC tuning, kernel bypass techniques, routing optimisation, telemetry instrumentation, and packet capture strategies.
- Partner with Network Engineering on deterministic networking, congestion mitigation, timing synchronisation, and microburst-tolerant path design.
