We’re hiring a Senior Developer to join the Regulatory News Service team in London. The focus of this role is to utilise artificial intelligence to improve user experience and reduce operational workload for both internal and external users of the Regulatory News Service. This role involves full lifecycle Agile development, including requirements analysis, estimation, design, coding, testing, and peer code reviews.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

  • Design, develop and maintain applications with embedded AI powered features.
  • Contribute to AI adoption and definition of best practices for AI usage within the application.
  • Work closely with product owners and application users on vision for next generation of the product.
  • Employ a range of techniques to analyse requirements and issues and evaluate multiple solutions against engineering, business & strategic criteria.
  • Identify and resolve barriers to business deliveries implementing solutions which iteratively add customer value.
  • Design solutions using common design patterns with a range of design tools & techniques.
  • Conduct peer reviews to ensure designs are fit for purpose, extensible and re-usable.
  • Design and build solutions which are secure and controlled.
  • Complete the design of applications and performing code analysis and overall improvement of style and usability.
  • Identify and implement improvements to code.
  • Develop a deep understanding of our users, their needs, behaviours, nice-to-haves, and bring that insight into the heart of all aspects of project work.
  • Communicate effectively with project partners to report on progress against agreed deliverables and raise any critical issues/blockers.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • Business level proficiency in the English language – written and verbal.
  • Proven ability to build intelligent business applications using latest AI technologies, MCP, LLMs and agentic frameworks.
  • Detailed knowledge of AI best practices and controls along with software development principles.
  • Experience delivering enterprise level software using Java or C#.
  • Experience and understanding of OO, MVC, REST, Web API and Unit testing frameworks.
  • Good knowledge of relational and/or NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL & DynamoDB experience is advantageous).
  • A good working knowledge of git (via Gitlab), source code control and branching/merging practices.
  • Willingness to learn and develop using multiple programming languages.

Preferred/Nice to have:

  • Expert practitioner of test-driven development, agile methodologies, and clean code programming.
  • Experience and understanding of HTML, JS, CSS, Typescript, Angular v8+, JS libraries, AWS.
  • Experience with C#, .Net / .Net Core, IIS.
  • A good working knowledge of other AWS cloud services (DynamoDB, Redis, CloudFront, etc).
  • Experience with Docker and, or other Container tooling (Kubernetes, Anthos, AWS ECTS).
  • Knowledge of CI/CD practices.
  • Experience working with Jira, Jenkins & Nexus.
  • Prior experience of working in large corporate enterprises.
