Location: London (Hybrid). FTSE Russell is seeking a senior, experienced Head of Risk & Control to lead first‑line risk processes across its global business. This Director‑level (GG15) role manages a team of 8–10 professionals across the UK, US and Asia and reports to the 1LOD Head of Regulatory, Risk & Controls.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the end‑to‑end Issue Management framework, ensuring consistent application of policies and robust governance.
  • Lead the global RCSA process, ensuring completeness, quality and timely remediation of risks.
  • Oversee hygiene and uplift of control design and implementation, ensuring controls are clearly defined, documented and embedded.
  • Develop and deliver risk and control Management Information, providing actionable insight to senior management.
  • Ensure all risk processes operate with clear governance, audit‑ready outputs and regulator‑credible documentation.
  • Lead and develop a globally distributed team, fostering a strong risk culture and reducing fragmentation.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Extensive experience in 1LoD risk and control, operational or enterprise risk management in a regulated financial services or market infrastructure environment.
  • Deep expertise in Issue Management frameworks, RCSA processes and control design.
  • Strong understanding of risk governance, regulatory expectations and audit requirements.
  • Proven ability to deliver global processes across multiple regions and collaborate with senior stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated people‑leadership experience, managing and developing high‑performing teams.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.

Desirable: Experience in large‑scale remediation or transformation programmes; familiarity with MetricStream, Jira or similar tooling; exposure to index, benchmark, data or analytics businesses; understanding of benchmark regulation.
