Working on the existing WMX platform and building outstanding index/benchmark product capabilities and production processes. Collaborating with product, research, partnerships, governance and policy, sales strategy, operations, marketing, and other teams to create innovative technical solutions for RBSL. Working closely with the product delivery team to align delivery priority/timelines with business and client expectations. Coaching and training junior software engineers in the WMX team to grow into SMEs.
Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities
- Demonstrates significant knowledge of a single or multiple technologies and advises on design, development and implementation.
- Advances tools and applications by producing clean and efficient code and reviews others' code when required.
- Promotes an open and inclusive culture, holding responsibility for motivation, retention and performance management, and leads by example.
- Demonstrates depth of knowledge and expertise in software development and is regarded as the SME in their domain; develops knowledge of other domains to understand linkages and dependencies.
- Understands the tech strategy and culture, and how this impacts own work as well as adjacent teams.
- Develops an understanding of the market and LSEG's commercial position in it.
- Leads the delivery of critical projects, coaching team members to be productive with little direction; delegating and reviewing work when required.
- Works with architects to decompose a solution into Epics.
- Adapts existing patterns to develop robust solutions.
- Leads timely design work and planning for Epics, breaking them down to journeys with product owners and quality leads.
- Continues to build and develop strong relationships with senior collaborators (internally and externally), representing LSEG appropriately; promotes collaboration between and within teams and communicates sophisticated information clearly to all audiences.
- Continues to develop technology and industry expertise through certifications, professional qualifications and networking events as well as invest in creating development opportunities for the team.
Qualifications and Experience
- Professional qualification or equivalent.
- In-depth knowledge of at least one popular programming language (Java, C++, Python).
- Significant experience in a software development and delivery role.
- Having relevant digital asset experience would be considered a plus.
- Requires extensive experience in management as well as leading teams.
- In-depth knowledge of REST APIs, microservices architecture, and AWS cloud platform, with comprehensive understanding of cloud-based infrastructure.
- Familiar with database knowledge, better on Postgres, Oracle.
- Understanding Design Pattern, UML well.
- Some experience of Business and Technical Analysis, Quality Assurance, delivery management, and/or Emerging Technology and Governance.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Advocate for and implement automation to streamline operational processes, reduce manual effort, and improve efficiency.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster effective collaboration across functional teams.
