We are hiring for an experienced Principal Product Designer. You are an authority in user experience design and will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to create design solutions which achieve our business goals and deliver maximum customer value.
Our flagship platforms and products are used by many thousands of users across the globe. Traders, brokers, wealth analysts, C-level, portfolio managers, researchers, risk analysts, and many more use them in different ways, in different contexts, in different countries, in different workflows, and with different needs. Our users rely on our products to deliver real-time, highly complex information in a way that they need, when they need it. This is delivered via desktop, mobile and web. Our platforms and products lead the financial industry. They offer fantastic opportunities for designers to really push the bounds of what’s possible, and deliver outstanding experiences for our customers.
The role is in the Workspace Product Design team, based in London. The team is responsible for design across a wide range of systems, platforms and products. We work closely with both the proposition/strategy teams as well as the product management and engineering teams. You will work closely with a core team of principal and senior designers who together have a great deal of experience working on complex desktop, mobile and web applications, and in designing for finance and risk professionals.
What you’ll be doing:- Designing MSFT Teams‐native collaboration experiences using Fluent UI and M365 conventions
- Following best practice and relevant design methodologies and processes, from product discovery through delivery
- Conducting user research and defining the structural design of complex applications
- Creating, refining and improving existing UI designs
- Collaborating with Product, Engineering and Business teams across LSEG to inform and bring to life the product strategy
- Representing the voice of the user in product decisions and being comfortable challenging the status quo
- Collaborating with other members of the Product Design team, including User Researchers, Service Designers, Content Designers and our Design System specialists
- Ensuring deliverables are consistent with our design system and evolving it where possible
- Collaborating closely with Engineers during the build of our solutions
- Communicating design rationale and progress to peers and leadership
- Hands‐on experience designing for the Microsoft ecosystem (Microsoft 365/Teams), with fluency in platform conventions such as Fluent UI and Teams guidelines
- Significant hands-on experience in a Product Design role in complex products/domains, highly preferred in financial services
- Bachelor's Degree in Product Design, Human-Computer Interaction, a related field or equivalent practical experience
- Have driven innovative efforts that uncovered new value with new kinds of experiences for both designers and customers/users
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with enterprise-scale Design Systems
- Track record of driving the user experience across highly complex enterprise problems with measurable success
- Portfolio demonstrating an expert level understanding and applied experience of product design in complex domain
