Role profile
The FX Market Surveillance Product Director will be responsible for the end-to-end ownership, design, and evolution of FX trade surveillance across Spot, Forward, Swap, NDF, Options, and emerging FX‑linked products. The role will entail defining, delivering, and continuously improving surveillance solutions that ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal risk standards across our FX Trading Platforms. This role bridges business, compliance, and technology teams to design and implement robust monitoring tools and alerting that detect potential market abuse, misconduct, and anomalies in trading activity.
Key Responsibilities
- Owns product strategy, design, and business and functional requirements for the FX market surveillance systems, ensuring alignment with relevant regulatory obligations and industry developments.
- Implements and helps define the vision and devises business plans for budgetary approval and product roadmaps, communicating the vision to different teams and senior leadership.
- Collaborates with senior Compliance, Risk, Technology, Business and Engineering teams to gather requirements, prioritise features and implement.
- Define key performance indicators for surveillance effectiveness and emerging trends.
- Present at relevant Board meetings and other governing forums.
- Works beyond own product line/business unit by developing knowledge and contributing to wider business product strategy, identifying opportunities for growth or efficiency.
Qualifications and Experience
- Demonstrable experience designing, delivering, or governing trade surveillance for FX or closely related asset classes.
- Strong background in providing market abuse and misconduct surveillance alert requirements, including end‑to‑end logic definition.
- Proven knowledge of global market abuse regulatory typologies, especially in FX markets.
- Good knowledge of global regulatory requirements governing FX trading (e.g., MAR, MiFIDII, FX Global Code).
- Experience operating in a regulated environment with direct exposure to regulatory exams, audits, or supervisory reviews.
- Familiarity with data analytics tools, SQL, and ideally machine learning concepts.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Previous FX trading experience desirable but not essential.
