Role profile: At LSEG, we are reimagining the way in which our customers consume our data and services, including transforming our Engineering teams to more tightly align with our products. In Data & Analytics Engineering (D&A) we are looking for a Senior Business Manager to lead in a dynamic, high-growth environment where business agility meets world-class product engineering. Reporting to the D&A Engineering COO and Head of Business Management with team members in US, UK and Romania, this individual will harden processes ranging from workforce management to portfolio execution, enabling better control and insight driven action.
Role summary: As Senior Business Manager, you will be driving strategic planning and operational activities for the effective and efficient running of D&A Engineering. The ideal candidate for this role is passionate about technology and operations, is an exemplary communicator and excels at distilling data into insights and action. They are experienced with engineering teams and bring simplicity and action where complexity abounds.
What you’ll be doing:
- Integrate workforce, portfolio and technical landscape inputs from D&A Engineering teams and to generate CIO/Executive level reports and preparation, collaborating with stakeholders to ensure good transparency and communication of performance.
- Coordinate department wide activities for smooth and efficient operation including, High Value Deals, portfolio board preparations, and monthly business reviews.
- Manage key relationships with CIO, Leadership Team, D&A divisional counterparts, Engineering counterparts and broad business management community.
- Manage D&A Engineering use of vendors and service providers to ensure value for money and alignment with Engineering strategy.
- Run and optimize a wide range of processes supporting the function to improve effectiveness and drive efficiencies across global teams.
- Track key performance results, analyzing trends and providing actionable insights to enhance performance.
- Produce materials, such as board papers, presentations, executive briefs, business cases, videos, etc.
What you’ll bring:
- Experience in product engineering, workforce transformation, cloud/infrastructure migrations and/or similar within financial services.
- A solid technical background, with hands on experience in establishing strong data models and standards, managing power BI apps and dashboards, and/or automating processes.
- Superb communication skills both written and verbal – skilled at producing, content-rich, word-light executive narrative to resonate at CIO/Executive level.
- Attention to detail, strong execution focus and great prioritisation skills. Preference for working to clear deadlines and commitments.
- Strengths in planning, organising and managing resources and activities to achieve specified outcomes within a clearly defined timeframe and standards.
- Preference for and experience with peer collaboration in a matrixed environment both providing execution direction to and using applied methodologies from the business management community.
