Purpose of the role

Reporting to the Director of Employee Relations for UK & Ireland, this role is an individual contributor within the Global Employee Relations Centre of Excellence (CoE). You will provide expert, commercially focused advice on complex and sensitive employment matters, operating with a high degree of autonomy while working in close partnership with key stakeholders.

What you'll be doing

  • Lead complex and sensitive ER cases end-to-end, including senior-level grievances, investigations, disciplinaries, whistleblowing and contractual matters.
  • Provide clear, practical ER advice to People Leaders, People Partners and senior stakeholders, balancing legal considerations with commercial outcomes.
  • Act as an escalation point for People Shared Services and Business/Country People Partners on policy, process, legal interpretation and precedent.
  • Influence decision-making through concise, evidence-based advice and ER insight.
  • Support organisational change activity, including restructures, redundancies and consultation processes, ensuring legal compliance and best practice.
  • Support collective ER activity where applicable, aligned to LSEG’s ER strategy and statutory obligations.
  • Partner closely with Legal on contentious matters, identifying emerging risks and recommending mitigations.
  • Contribute to case reviews to identify trends, risks and opportunities to improve ER practice.
  • Share knowledge, insights and learning across the Global ER CoE to drive continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to ER capability building through training, guidance and knowledge sharing.
  • Role-model professional judgement, integrity and values-led decision-making.

What you'll bring

  • Extensive experience in Employee Relations with strong, practical application of UK employment law.
  • Proven ability to manage complex ER cases independently.
  • Confidence influencing senior stakeholders through clear, balanced and well-reasoned advice.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience supporting large-scale change, including restructures, redundancy or TUPE activity.
  • Exposure to unionised or consultative environments.
  • Ability to operate effectively in complex environments and work through differing perspectives constructively.
  • AI-proficient, using technology and data responsibly to improve ER insight, efficiency and judgement.
  • A collaborative approach and commitment to shared outcomes.
  • A growth mindset, with curiosity and resilience when navigating complexity.
