We are seeking a highly motivated and relationship-driven Director, Business Development to represent and grow our business in the United Kingdom, based in London. This role will serve as the primary on-the-ground presence for the company, acting as a spokesperson, relationship owner, and commercial lead across the UK market. The Director, Business Development will focus on developing new client relationships, maintaining key partnerships, gathering market intelligence, and providing local coverage where senior leadership cannot be physically present.
This is a hands-on, externally focused role suited for someone comfortable representing the brand, opening doors, and turning feedback into action.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary representative and spokesperson for the company in the UK, with a strong presence in London and the broader UK market
- Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with new and existing clients, partners, and industry stakeholders
- Proactively engage prospective clients through meetings, events, and in-person outreach to grow the sales pipeline
- Provide local coverage for client and partner meetings when senior leadership is unavailable, ensuring consistent engagement and follow-through
- Establish trust and credibility by clearly articulating the company’s value proposition and offerings
- Gather structured feedback from clients and partners and relay insights to leadership to inform strategy, product, and service improvements
- Stay on top of UK and European market trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging opportunities
- Coordinate closely with internal teams to support onboarding, deal progression, and ongoing relationship management
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities as needed
- Support the long-term growth of the business in the UK market, helping shape commercial strategy and go-to-market initiatives
Experience
- 7-10 years of experience in Financial Services preferred
- Experience in commercial banking, payments, private equity/hedge funds, blockchain, crypto, clearing, or capital markets
- Demonstrated success in business development, client acquisition, relationship management, or strategic partnerships
- Strong understanding of the UK financial services landscape and established industry network preferred
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills
