Role profile:
- Drives the direction and delivery of major programmes to achieve strategic objectives and transformational change.
Key responsibilities of the role:
- Provides overall programme leadership, guidance and technical expertise to manage all aspects of a programme including requirements analysis, business case creation, planning and execution.
- Holds ultimate accountability for delivery, managing programmes with great complexity, impact, risk, budget variances and change requests.
- Aligns the programme to the strategic direction of the portfolio, ensuring prioritisation of key projects and devising new ideas and initiatives to support the organisation.
- Produces reports for senior management and stakeholders on the progress of the programme against objectives and plans, highlighting any improvement areas and the requirements to correct them.
- Promotes and fosters collaboration across broad categories of stakeholders, providing leadership in cross-functional meetings and representing the seniority of the programme or senior stakeholders in governance boards and committees.
- Collaborates with the Portfolio Manager to ensure the programme achieves objectives and aligns with business priorities.
- Leads, coaches, and mentors programme and project managers within the programme, setting performance and delivery expectations to yield consistent results, whilst highlighting and promoting successful practices across the organisation.
Portfolio Management:
- Provides overall portfolio leadership, guidance and technical expertise to manage all aspects of the ForexClear portfolio.
- Works closely with internal stakeholders from Risk, Product and Engineering to ensure the ForexClear portfolio is shaped appropriately in response to technical, regulatory, resilience and commercial demands.
- Works with external project managers from banks, vendors and commercial partners to deliver key commercial initiatives.
- Manages full project deliveries by working closely with Product, Risk, Technology, Legal, Finance and Procurement.
- Manages the portfolio RAID log and proactively manages resolution.
- Responsible for the ForexClear Capex budget of approximately £10m per annum.
- Chairs the ForexClear Portfolio Board and provides MIS reporting into the Markets Portfolio Board.
- Manages the change agenda including multi-year roadmap alignment with strategy, change delivery ensuring adherence to timing, budget and quality goals.
- Delivers value incrementally by operating in an Agile environment.
Commercial Focus:
- Work with Project Managers and Product Owners to ensure Portfolio Backlog prioritisation aligns with business priorities and revenue targets.
- Partners with Finance and Business Management on annual budgeting and forecasting to ensure the Capex budget is sized and allocated appropriately.
- Partners with Product and Finance to ensure project business cases are aligned to and reconcile with the future years revenue budgets.
- Defines measurable business outcomes in line with the business strategy and tracks performance at regular intervals.
Partnership:
- Promotes and fosters collaboration across broad categories of stakeholders, providing leadership in cross-functional meetings and representing the business in governance boards and committees.
- By working with teams leads ensures Agile teams are resourced appropriately in order to deliver change initiatives in support of business strategy.
- Understands and addresses stakeholder needs, collaborates with and influences others.
- Coaches and mentors project managers, product owners, scrum masters and agile teams.
- Collaborates with leaders and colleagues across the group to develop cross-divisional solutions to meet stakeholders needs.
