Reporting into the Cloud and Productivity Engineering Organisation, this role will own and deliver the London Stock Exchange Group’s public cloud & developer architecture on AWS. Innovation is at the heart of this program and the role/key focus areas will continuously evolve to meet the business change, security, and our digital strategy. The Head of Cloud Architecture will provide the leadership, drive and focus on the strategy, design and evolution of London Stock Exchange Group's strategic public and private cloud platform. This role will own, lead, and develop a global dispersed team responsible for the strategy & design across the cloud platform and development toolchain.
A successful leader in this role will have examples of defining and curating the Cloud and Developer strategy, standards, processes, methodologies, and architecture to enable business innovation, simplify technology landscape and improve overall operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Drive the acceleration, adoption and migration of applications to the public cloud targeting moving the majority of the overall combined LSEG / Refinitiv estate to the cloud on AWS.
- Own the technical / architectural integrity and strategic roadmap of the Cloud and be accountable for successful delivery of the business / technical outcome.
- Retire and or decommission a number of the data centres across the globe to a cloud hosted environment.
- Work with the Group CISO and the broader IT security teams to improve security controls.
- Leverage emerging & innovative technologies in Cloud and development to enable simplification of technology landscape and service consumption to improve customer experience and drive cost reduction.
- Work with chapters to define cloud and developer service strategy including standards, blueprints, processes, and patterns.
- Act as a Cloud evangelist, helping leaders understand the benefits, challenges and implications of adopting cloud and helping their teams move to cloud.
- Establish relationships & collaborate across the Engineering community to establish and implement consistent architecture across all Digital platforms which delivers LSEG’s future technology needs and approved by relevant governing bodies.
- Build relationships and collaborate with the cloud platform 'customers' and connect with senior stakeholders up to C Level.
- In part perform the task of Agile 'Product Owner' for the cloud platform.
- Ensure feedback and learning is acquired and utilised as early and often as possible.
- Validated deep technical background working with related infrastructure technologies.
- Experience with the following technology areas: SDLC – Continuous Integration & Delivery, Application Security, Quality Assurance.
- Platforms – Istio, Serverless, Kubernetes.
- Processes - Agile, Lean, Product Development.
- Culture - DevSecOps, Continuous Change.
- Software engineering with exposure to event high performance computing, event driven, big data analytics, machine learning.
- Program language polyglot (C, C++, C#, Java, Rust, Go, Python).
- Enterprise and Solution Architecture.
- Proven experience working in a senior technology role (e.g. technical / infrastructure / enterprise architect) within a public cloud environment (ideally with AWS) in a large enterprise environment.
- Ability to effect technological and cultural change towards rapid technology adoption and absorption.
- Team player with a proven track record in delivering successful business outcomes.
- Excellent planning and communication skills and able to lead conversations with development and product teams.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

- Proven awareness of the latest developments in today's public cloud industry (AWS) and related industry benchmark / best practice projects.
- Consistent track record working in agile environments under a DevOps culture.
- Deep understanding of operating systems, network infrastructures, RDBMS etc.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code software.
- Exposure to automated testing tools.
- Knowledge of continuous integration - continuous deployment pipelines.
- Recognised deep proficiency with AWS, and knowledge of Azure & GCP services desirable.
