Reporting into the Cloud Architecture Organisation, this role provides strategic cloud network architecture leadership across multiple public cloud platforms. The position demands exceptional technical depth across cloud service providers (including AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI) combined with strategic thinking to shape and own our cloud networking patterns and standards.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
- Build strong partnerships with Cloud Architecture, SRE, Security, and Application teams
- Influence senior stakeholders on technical direction and architectural decisions
- Lead architectural reviews and design sessions across multiple cloud platforms
- Drive collaboration between cloud and traditional infrastructure teams
- Mentor and develop cloud networking expertise across the organisation
- Own and develop the strategic direction for cloud networking patterns and standards across multiple cloud service providers
- Drive the evolution of our cloud networking architecture, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technology strategy
- Create and maintain enterprise-scale network architecture patterns that can be consistently applied across AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI
- Develop migration strategies and technical approaches for transitioning legacy networks to cloud-native solutions
- Lead the definition of network security architecture patterns, incorporating zero-trust principles and cloud-native security controls
- Own the cloud networking patterns library, ensuring patterns are current, well-documented, and aligned with cloud provider best practices
- Design reusable networking patterns that address complex requirements including multi-region connectivity, hybrid cloud integration, and high-performance data transfer
- Establish architectural principles and standards for cloud networking implementations
- Create reference architectures for key networking scenarios including transit networking, service mesh implementations, and cloud interconnectivity
- Drive the adoption of Infrastructure as Code practices for network deployment and management
- Serve as the technical authority for cloud networking across the organisation
- Evaluate emerging cloud networking technologies and services across multiple providers
- Lead proof-of-concept initiatives to validate new architectural approaches
- Drive innovation in areas such as network automation, service mesh architecture, and cloud-native networking
- Provide architectural oversight for critical networking initiatives and major architectural changes
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
- Significant experience in network engineering and architecture
- Deep technical expertise in at least three major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI)
- Proven track record of designing enterprise-scale cloud networking solutions
- Expert knowledge of cloud-native networking services and capabilities across multiple providers
- Strong background in network security architecture and zero-trust networking principles
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Professional certifications required across at least platforms:
- AWS Certified Advanced Networking or other Associate level
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate or other associate level
- Google Cloud Professional Network Engineer or other associate level
- Oracle Cloud Infrastructure or associate level
- HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate
- Additional industry networking certifications at associate or above
