We are evolving our Reliability Engineering team to move beyond support and operations. As a Senior Engineer in Site Reliability, you will be part of a diverse and inclusive organization that has full ownership of the availability, performance, and scalability of one of the most critical shared services at LSEG.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
  • We are looking for people with a passion to learn, and who bring a continuous improvement mentality to our team!
  • SREs maintain Service Level Objectives for the systems they own. Constantly measuring and improving availability, latency, and overall system health is at the core of our team's purpose.
  • Write automation to scale systems sustainably, prevent service issues, or when they occur, quickly recover service.
  • Partner with development teams to improve system reliability, observability, and release velocity.
  • Participate in on-call rotations, incident response, postmortems, and root cause analysis and resolution.
  • Be a vocal advocate of strong/sound engineering practices that allow us to build, deploy, and run scalable, reliable, and performant services.
  • Enablers for Cloud migration working with foundation and migration teams from the inception of the projects performing architectural reviews, operational acceptable testing and configuring Datadog dashboards and metrics.
  • Be part of continuous learning and development culture.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
  • Hands-on experience as a reliability engineer, with a strong desire to grow and lead in the discipline.
  • Proficiency in Python or a similar programming language.
  • Solid experience with cloud platforms, particularly Azure or AWS.
  • Familiarity with trading systems and their operational demands.
  • Strong incident and recovery management skills, with a clear understanding of the urgency around client-impacting applications.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Proven experience with DevOps principles and collaborative ways of working.
  • Expertise in observability practices, including logging, metrics, distributed tracing, and alerting.
  • Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and frameworks.
  • Sound understanding of identity and access management, as well as application security.
  • Aware of financial products and services, and how they relate to system reliability.
