About the Role
The role sits within LSEG’s Group Procurement function, focusing on the Cloud Category team within the Technology spend tower.
It involves strategic sourcing and supplier relationship management for cloud service providers across a significant annual spend.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement category strategies across database, middleware and other enterprise software.
- Lead complex sourcing initiatives, contract negotiations and commercial discussions with leading technology vendors.
- Manage high‑value renewals, licence rationalisation and subscription strategies.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships across LSEG and act as a strategic commercial advisor.
- Lead supplier relationship management activities including governance reviews, performance management and value realisation.
- Identify and mitigate commercial, operational and licensing risks.
- Support procurement governance, savings tracking and contract lifecycle management.
- Drive procurement transformation initiatives and promote good sourcing/supplier‑management methodologies.
Qualifications
- Significant experience in Technology Procurement, Category Management or Strategic Sourcing, covering infrastructure software, databases, middleware or enterprise platforms.
- Proven record of negotiating complex software agreements, renewals and licensing arrangements with global suppliers.
- Strong understanding of software commercial models (subscription, Saa S, perpetual, consumption‑based, enterprise licensing).
- Ability to translate technical requirements into commercial strategies.
- Strong management and influencing skills with experience engaging senior engineering and business leaders.
- Strong analytical, negotiation and project‑management capabilities.
- Experience working within large, complex or highly regulated organisations.
- MCIPS or equivalent procurement qualification (desired).
- Experience with suppliers such as Oracle, IBM, Microsoft, Mongo DB, Postgre SQL, TIBCO or similar enterprise software vendors.
