Asset Manager - Terminal – Reports to Asset Development Director, Asset Development team, London Stansted Airport. Permanent, full-time position. Monday to Friday, office-based role. May require some travel to other locations. Competitive remuneration package, including car allowance & bonus.

The role
Responsible for developing the infrastructure and asset management plans and the investment cases aligned to ISO 55000, that drive value and deliver the strategic objectives for London Stansted Airport. To lead the development and prioritisation of investment needs for a variety of asset types and manage overall capex plan for a defined asset base. To develop clear requirements for all investments (renewals, regulatory, growth, customer improvements), define optimised solutions, and sponsor capital delivery programmes. To work collaboratively with Operations, Maintenance, Commercial, Strategy, Capital Delivery and IT teams to work in an integrated fashion to deliver capital investment schemes at airports and realise benefits from investment. To ensure a seamless delivery of new or enhanced assets into operation to agreed asset standards and requirements. To ensure developments incorporate current and future business transformational schemes, including all future asset demands across infrastructure and technology. To work closely with Strategy and Master planning teams to support concept and solution development into feasibility and design-delivery.
Main accountabilities
- Develop, prioritise and deliver asset management strategies and investment plans for London Stansted that define business planning (1, 3, 5 and 25 year plans) and deliver agreed asset performance and wider airport strategic requirements.
- Work collaboratively with Operations and Maintenance teams to ensure data sources are reliable, accurate and complete, using this data and information to inform asset strategy and investment decisions that focus on whole life cost and optimising value for the airport and group.
- Identify opportunities to drive additional yield or efficiencies in commercial and operational functions.
- Lead the Capex Gateway process from prioritisation of candidates (business needs), writing Gateway 0 – 2 approval papers (including business cases) and remaining as sponsor through to GW6 (Benefits realisation).
- Build collaborative relationships across airport Operations, Commercial, Strategy, Capital Delivery, IT, Group Procurement and Finance.
- Provide insight into industry best practice, technology advances and how these may provide value for this asset group.
What will make you successful in the role?
- 5 years + Asset Management experience – either through qualification or extensive knowledge in an infrastructure sector
- Degree / professionally qualified desirable but not essential
- Experience of asset management in mechanical or building systems desirable, but not essential
- Must be able to work cross-functionally and develop strategies that incorporate the needs of the airport holistically
- Able to work in an environment of high change and manage multiple scenarios when developing solutions
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills at all levels of the business
- Commercial acumen including risk management, financial appraisal. Whole life cost analysis.
