Do you want to help build a sustainable future for east London? Well, here’s an exciting opportunity to apply your expertise to the leading edge of sustainable development.
We’re looking for an experienced sustainability practitioner to join LLDC’s sustainability team. You’ll be supporting the delivery of LLDC’s Climate Action Strategy, focusing on our extensive program of development projects.
This role has a strong focus on our construction projects and requires someone who can balance the technical rigor of high-level sustainability standards with the challenges of development project delivery.

This is a practical role for an exceptional communicator. We’re clear on the technical standards our developments require and are looking for someone who has demonstrable experience of applying ambitious sustainability standards to developer partnerships (developer agreements, joint ventures, etc).
You’ll work in close partnership with a range of internal and external stakeholders to positively influence LLDC’s net zero, climate resilient objectives over a critical period of the developments’ progress. If this sounds like the role for you, please see below for application details.

Benefits
- The salary for this post is £69,279 per annum. LLDC operates a performance-based incremental pay scale.
- The probationary period for this post is for 3 months. Upon successful completion of the probation period, confirmation of employment will be given, and notice period will be three months.
- This is a permanent role.
- This is full time position, working 37 hours per week.
- All employees are eligible to join our pension scheme, which is provided by the Local Government Pension Scheme.
- Annual leave entitlement is 32 days per year, plus bank holidays, pro-rata for part-time employees. The LLDC leave year runs from 1st April until 31st March and the entitlement will be pro-rata from the individual’s start date.
- To align with LLDC’s objectives, we offer 3 fully compensated volunteer days (pro-rata for part-time employment) providing all staff with the opportunity to serve the community in which they live in.
- LLDC can provide employees with an interest-free loan to purchase a season ticket for travel to and from work. Loans are available for the actual cost of the ticket up to a maximum value of £5,000.
