About the Role & Team: We are seeking a proactive and commercially aware Talent Development Manager to drive the design and delivery of our people development strategy across the business. This is a key role responsible for identifying capability gaps, building structured development pathways, and embedding a high-performance culture that supports our continued growth. You will work closely with senior leaders to ensure our people have the skills, behaviours, and tools required to deliver high-quality projects and achieve business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Talent & Performance Management: Conduct skills gap analysis to identify current and future capability needs. Lead the annual 9-box grid talent review process, supporting succession planning and performance management. Design and implement a High Performance Programme. Support goal setting and performance processes, including balanced scorecard frameworks.
  • Learning & Development: Develop and deliver behavioural and technical development pathways across the business. Design learning plans and development outcomes aligned to business objectives. Promote and drive adoption of internal and external learning platforms (e.g. Talent Hub, LinkedIn Learning). Support onboarding by delivering structured induction programmes for all new starters.
  • Culture & Engagement: Embed company mission, vision, and values into all development initiatives. Integrate competency frameworks into performance and development processes. Collaborate with wider group / external stakeholders to ensure a joined-up approach to talent development.
  • Compliance & Mandatory Training: Manage and track mandatory training and compliance, ensuring 100% completion. Maintain accurate, auditable training records. Oversee training requirements such as CSCS cards, SMSTS certifications, First Aid and Fire Marshal coverage.
  • Systems & Reporting: Manage and utilise key systems including Entomo, Astute, BambooHR, TalentHub & LinkedIn Learning. Use data and insights measure effectiveness and continuously improve development initiatives.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in Talent Development or Learning & Development, ideally within the construction or built environment sector.
  • Strong experience designing and implementing talent and performance frameworks.
  • Ability to partner with senior stakeholders and influence across a project-based environment.
  • Experience developing structured learning and development pathways (technical and behavioural).
  • Knowledge of compliance and mandatory training requirements within construction (e.g. CSCS, SMSTS, H&S).
  • Strong understanding of performance management, succession planning, and talent reviews.
  • Data-driven, with the ability to measure impact and demonstrate ROI.
  • Comfortable managing multiple systems and driving adoption of learning platforms.
