Senior Buyer in Uxbridge

About the Role & Team

The Senior Buyer will lead material procurement for Development(s) as applicable.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing material tenders for project(s).
• Procurement of all material packages
• Managing supplier accounts to include raising payments, reviewing and assessing price increases and preparing and settling final accounts;
• Reviewing drawing changes;
• Reviewing and procuring material requests where appropriate;
• Producing valuation reports to advise of any cost movements and reporting to the Board of Directors on a quarterly basis;
• Implementation of buying function in line with the Commercial Policies & Procedures Manual
• Attend design team meetings
• Carry out detailed package review meetings & drive value engineering opportunities of design & scope information
• Identifying & establishing appropriate products to increase efficiency of the business
• Financial accountability for the material budget of project
• Partnership & co-operation with the Project Team for operational and financial delivery

Key Skills and Experience

• Capable of working independently with minimum supervision and as part of the wider project team;
• Excellent communication skills to be able to communicate daily with the relevant members of the Technical, Sales, Construction, Surveying and Finance teams;
• Very good commercial acumen
• Good Interpersonal skills
• Very good negotiation skills
• Good construction knowledge
