About the Role & Team

As a key member of the Commercial North team, the Project Surveyor will report to the Commercial Manager and support the Senior Quantity Surveyor and Commercial Manager on day‐to‐day activities. The role will be site‐based in Kingston (Surrey County Hall) with some travel to our head office in Uxbridge.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing tenders and detailed scopes of works for projects.
  • Procurement of all contractor trade packages.
  • Managing contractor accounts, including raising contractor payments, reviewing and assessing variation claims, and preparing and settling final accounts.
  • Reviewing drawing changes.
  • Reviewing and approving site instructions & CCFs where appropriate.
  • Producing valuation reports to advise on cost movements and reporting to the Board of Directors on a quarterly basis.
  • Implementing commercial functions in line with the Commercial Policies & Procedures Manual.
  • Attending design team meetings.
  • Conducting detailed package review meetings & driving value engineering opportunities of design & scope information.
  • Preparing all contract documentation and ensuring accuracy.
  • Financial accountability for the project budget.
  • Partnering & co‐operating with the project team for operational and financial delivery.
  • Managing and delegating work to junior members of the site commercial team where applicable.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Capable of working independently with minimum supervision and as part of the wider project team.
  • Excellent communication skills to engage daily with the relevant members of the technical, sales, construction, buying and finance teams.
  • Very good commercial acumen.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Very good negotiation skills.
  • Strong construction knowledge.
