The Assistant Quantity Surveyor will support the commercial team on residential construction projects. This role is ideal for someone looking to develop their career in quantity surveying, gaining hands-on experience in cost management, procurement, and contract administration while working on high-quality residential developments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing sub-contractor accounts to include raising sub-contractor payments, reviewing and assessing variation claims and preparing and settling final account.
  • Reviewing drawing changes & getting involved in Value Engineering process.
  • Reviewing and approving Site Instructions where appropriate.
  • Assisting in producing valuation reports to advise of any cost movements and reporting to the Board of Directors on a quarterly basis.
  • Producing Tender lists, scopes of works and issuing tenders.
  • Attending Design Team Meetings.
  • Preparing Housing Association valuations where applicable.
  • Preparing sub-contract documentation for review.
  • Partnership & Co-operation with the Project Team for operational and financial delivery.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in either a developer or residential main contractor background.
  • Capable of working independently with minimum supervision and as part of the wider project team.
  • Excellent communication skills to be able to communicate daily with the relevant members of the Technical, Sales, Construction, Buying and Finance teams.
  • Enthusiastic, driven, ambitious, hardworking and pro-active in their approach to ensuring the completion of tasks to tight deadlines.
  • Ideally be degree qualified holding a minimum of a 2:1 in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or similar.
