About the Role & Team
The Document Controller will be responsible for managing information across large residential development scheme(s). They will be responsible for establishing and maintaining robust document control systems, ensuring compliance with project standards, and supporting efficient communication between internal teams and external stakeholders. This role will have multi-site coverage with regular travel required to sites in Bermondsey and Lambeth, and occasional (one day a week) travel to our head office (Uxbridge).
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain EDMS’ and arrange the sharing of site information using EDMs’.
- Ensure that information is up-to-date and reaching the right project personnel informing them and supporting them throughout the build life of the project.
- Managing systems, supporting users and providing quality control for information being shared.
- Initial set up and providing continuous system support, including adding users and organisations.
- Lead and manage contractors in their ability to access information, providing user access and any guides, mini videos or training material available.
- Liaising with external stakeholders (consultants and sub-contractors) with training, problem‑solving, queries/issues arising and acting as the point of contact for build information.
- Occasional ad‑hoc reporting and administration using EDMs, Excel and other various software solutions.
Key Skills & Experience
- Experience in document control within construction, ideally large scale residential development and high rise residential schemes.
- Strong knowledge of document control platforms (e.g., Doc hosting Viewpoint, Aconex, Asite) with Aconex beneficial.
- Experience with BIM workflows and digital construction documentation.
- Familiarity with ISO standards related to document management.
- Experience using Field View beneficial.
- Ability to manage documentation across multiple projects and stakeholders.
- Ability to interact, support and maintain relationships with various personnel, users and contacts internally and externally and able to communicate document control terminology.
- Excellent organisational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and an organised approach to daily routines such as quality checking uploads, following up on IFCs and RFIs.
- Excellent IT skills and experience of using Excel, SharePoint and the ability to learn new systems and new technologies.
