About the role

Our Surface Access team are responsible for providing our passengers with a smooth journey to and from our airport.

They take care of the car parks & the rail station and support our passengers with any queries, ensuring that they receive the seamless, quick and friendly experience that they have come to expect here at London Southend Airport.

We bet you’re thinking “so what is it I will actually be doing day to day?” well….

  • I will be assisting customers face to face, over the phone, via email, and over the intercom.
  • I will update all notice boards with current information.
  • I will operate the ticket gates at the train station and the car park barriers.
  • I will empty and load the pay machines.
  • I will monitor the CCTV and conduct patrols of the surface access areas.
  • I will fully embody the Airports ‘One Team’ culture and understand that there may be times when I am required to undertake other activities to support the needs of the business.
  • I understand that the Airport is in operation 24/7 so I may be scheduled and expected to work any shift during operating hours, this will include early mornings, late nights, overnight, weekends, and bank holidays
