Commis Chef
Part Time – 30 hrs per week
Expected start date – 26th March 2026
Fixed Term Contract until 31st October 2026
About The Role
As a Commis Chef at London Southend Airport, I contribute to the smooth running of the kitchen by passionately taking responsibility of my own section. I excel at working in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment and take pride in delivering exceptional meals to our guests.
Key Responsibilities
- I will be responsible for my own section of the kitchen
- I will prepare, cook, and present dishes to a high standard
- I will work collaboratively with my fellow kitchen team members to ensure our smooth service remains consistent
- I will supervise and support the junior chefs, including Commis Chefs and Kitchen Assistants
- I will maintain excellent food hygiene and safety standards
- I will assist with stock control, ordering and stock levels
- I will prepare all mise en place in advance
- I will fully embody the Airport’s ‘One Team’ culture and understand that there may be times when I am required to undertake other activities to support the needs of the business
- I understand that the Airport is in operation 24/7 so I may be scheduled and expected to work any shift during operating hours, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and bank holidays
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- I have previous experience as a Chef de Partie, or similar
- I have a passion for delivering high‑quality food
- I have strong attention to detail
- I have knowledge of food safety, hygiene and allergen regulations
- I am a strong, confident communicator and can effectively liaise with my team members
- I have the ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced and sometimes high‑pressure environment

The Pay Range for This Role Is
12.21 – 12.21 GBP per hour (London Southend Airport)
