About The Role

As Commis Chef at London Southend Airport, I contribute to the smooth running of the kitchen by passionately taking responsibility of my own section. I excel at working in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment and take pride in delivering exceptional meals to our guests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for my own section of the kitchen.
  • Prepare, cook, and present dishes to a high standard.
  • Work collaboratively with kitchen team members to ensure consistent service.
  • Supervise and support junior chefs, including Commis Chefs and Kitchen Assistants.
  • Maintain excellent food hygiene and safety standards.
  • Assist with stock control, ordering and stock levels.
  • Prepare all mise en place in advance.
  • Fully embody the Airports ‘One Team’ culture and support other business needs when required.
  • Work any shift during operating hours, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and bank holidays.

Skills, Knowledge And Expertise

  • Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or similar.
  • Passion for delivering high‑quality food.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and allergen regulations.
  • Strong, confident communicator and effective liaison with team members.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, sometimes high‑pressure environment.
