About the role
Our Security Team play a crucial part in supporting the airport to thrive and operate seamlessly. As our Aviation Security Manager, you will be the most senior member of the Security Team and will be accountable for the solid delivery of a compliant, and safe, security operation.
Day to day responsibilities include:
- Accountability for the Security Team working to all current legislation and internal policies.
- Overall development of the security team.
- Delivering the departmental business plan.
- Chairing and leading the Risk Advisory Group and advising the Senior Executive Group.
- Developing and routinely reviewing LSA’s Aviation Security continuity plans.
- Oversight and management of the Airport Security Management system.
- Membership of the airport Senior Management Team and the Crisis Management Team.
- Leading all internal and external audit processes.
- Embodying the Airports ‘One Team’ culture and undertaking other activities to support the needs of the business when required.
- Understanding that the Airport is in operation 24/7, requiring flexibility for scheduling, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and bank holidays.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
To be considered for this critical role, you must hold the following qualifications and experience:
- DfT approved Level 3 Security Manager.
- Experience of leading and managing security teams at a UK Directed Airport.
- Knowledge of the National Aviation Security Programme (NASP) and all other security related legislation.
- Experience of liaising with inspectors and officials of national bodies on aviation security.
- Experience of conducting internal auditing and testing.
