About the role

As Marketing and External Communications Manager at London Southend Airport, I develop and deliver London Southend Airport’s brand positioning by taking a customer-centric approach. My goal is to ‘Own’ the passenger relationship. I will:

  • Manage the development of content that delivers a single identity and tone of voice across all marketing channels.
  • Manage the development of external communications providing data and content to support our airlines.
  • Work with the airport’s senior leadership team to develop the airport’s website content.
  • Work with the non‑aeronautical team to support the delivery of their marketing objectives.
  • Manage the deployment of effective visual communications throughout the passenger journey.
  • Develop creative PR strategies to increase the airport's exposure through traditional and social media.
  • Effectively manage external crisis communications when required.
  • Collate any available consumer data to support accurate campaign targeting.
  • Fully embody the Airports ‘One Team’ culture and understand that there may be times when I am required to undertake other activities to support the needs of the business.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

This is a key role in helping to support the airport’s ambitious growth plans, we are looking for the successful candidate to have key knowledge and experience. If you possess the below, you have everything required to excel in this position:

  • Demonstrable marketing experience, gained in the retail or travel sector, or within a recognised media/marketing agency.
  • Experience in digital marketing – website, SEO and social.
  • Experience in successfully influencing and managing internal stakeholder relationships.
  • Experience in reputational and crisis communications.
  • Experience in CRM Management.
  • Proficient in Canva, PowerPoint and WordPress (or similar CMS).
  • Fluent in English, with the ability to perfect copy and deliver concision.
