About the role

As Breakfast Chef at London Southend Airport I contribute to the smooth operation of the kitchen by passionately taking responsibility of my own section. I excel at working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and take pride in delivering exceptional meals to our guests.

Key responsibilities:

• I will independently run a dedicated section of the kitchen
• I will prepare, cook, and present dishes to the highest standard
• I will be responsible for portion and waste control
• I will be responsible for the cleanliness, organisation, and stock levels of my section
• I will be responsible for maintaining food hygiene and safety standards
• I will support in training and mentoring the junior kitchen team
• I will effectively communicate with the other chefs and our front-of-house team to support with a smooth service
• I will fully embody the Airports ‘One Team’ culture and understand that there may be times when I am required to undertake other activities to support the needs of the business.
• I understand that the Airport is in operation 24/7 and this role will require me to work early mornings, which include 3am starts

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• I have proven experience working in a busy kitchen as a Breakfast Chef, or similar
• I have a passion for food preparation and the delivery of exceptional guest experiences
• I have strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations
• I have excellent time management and attention to detail skills
• I am a strong, confident, communicator and can effectively liaise with my team members
• I have the ability to work effectively in a fast paced, and sometimes high-pressured environment.
