Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe, secure and welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors, promoting good learner behaviour across the campus.
- Monitor the use of public areas, teaching spaces, cafés, social areas and campus grounds, reporting and taking appropriate action to stop unsafe activities.
- Use de-escalation techniques to positively manage learner behaviour.
- Control access of personnel and vehicular traffic, ensuring only authorised persons are allowed on site and checking ID cards.
- Respond to accidents or incidents, including administering first aid and completing accident and/or incident reports in accordance with College procedures.
- Collaborate with team members to provide a prompt quality service for the operation of fire, security, CCTV systems using electronic and computerised facilities management systems and equipment.
Qualifications
- Hold an SIA Door Supervision Licence.
- Have previous experience in the security sector, CCTV operations or youth work.
- Experience in conflict management and de-escalation techniques.
- Ability to communicate calmly and professionally with students, staff and visitors at all levels.
- Capability to work unsupervised as well as cooperatively and productively with other staff.
