About the Role

We are seeking a creative, committed and student‐centred Lecturer in Art (SEND) to join our Learning for Living and Work team. You will deliver engaging and inclusive Art provision to learners with learning disabilities and/or difficulties, helping them to develop creativity, confidence, independence and life skills alongside their educational outcomes. Teaching will take place across a range of SEND programmes, with a strong emphasis on personalised learning, access to the curriculum and learner progression. You will work closely with the Curriculum Manager and wider team to support curriculum development and ensure high‐quality teaching, learning and assessment.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high‐quality Art teaching to learners with a range of SEND.
  • Support learners' personal, social and emotional development.
  • Plan inclusive lessons and develop accessible learning materials.
  • Monitor and record learner progress and achievement.
  • Contribute to curriculum development, enrichment and marketing activity.
  • Provide tutorial, pastoral and administrative support as required.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet school and college objectives.

Qualifications

You will have experience of teaching Art and/or relevant industry experience, with experience of working with SEND learners or a strong commitment to developing this expertise. You will also have:

  • Level 2 literacy and numeracy (GCSE or equivalent).
  • A recognised teaching qualification, or willingness to work towards one.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • A creative, flexible and inclusive approach to teaching.
  • A commitment to equality, safeguarding and continuous professional development.
