About the Role

Teaching Assistant – Aspire Academy, South Gipsy Road, Welling DA16 1JB. Full‑time, initially 1 year contract. 37 hours per week (Mon/Wed/Thu 08:30–16:00; Fri 08:30–16:30; Tue 08:30–16:00). Term time only (39 weeks per year). Salary: £24,994 (LSEAT Harmonised 18). Post start date: September 2026. Closing date: Friday 19 June.

Your Opportunity

We are seeking enthusiastic teaching assistants to support our team. The ideal candidate has excellent communication and interpersonal skills, is creative, resilient, enjoys a challenge, and adopts a caring and positive approach to working with young people from a range of backgrounds and diagnoses (SEMH, ASD, ADHD).

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils in a class of 8–10 to access the curriculum.
  • Work one-to-one or in small groups with pupils delivering intervention programmes such as phonics.
  • Offer emotional support to pupils.
  • Support the creation of a calm and productive working environment.
  • Support students’ individual behaviour targets.
  • Assist students to participate fully in the social and academic activities within the Academy.

Qualifications

  • GCSE Grade 4 or equivalent in English and Maths (desirable).
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills.
